Meet Nate Bailey – Licensed Professional Counselor

Specialist in Addiction Recovery and Depression Therapy

Are you struggling to get out of bed each morning? Do you feel like you’re walking through life carrying a heavy weight, with nothing enjoyable in sight? Depression can leave you feeling stuck, hopeless, and drained. Addiction can feel like a never-ending cycle that’s hard to break free from. You might find yourself hiding your struggles from others, or breaking promises to yourself, unsure how to move forward. If you’ve set limits for yourself but can’t seem to follow through, or if you dread tomorrow, I want you to know: You don’t have to face this alone.

I understand how overwhelming it can be to feel trapped in these patterns, but change is possible. Recovery from depression and addiction is within reach. Together, we can work toward building healthier habits and creating the life you want.

How I Can Help

I have many years of experience helping people overcome addictions. I’m here to walk with you through this journey, not only as a professional but as someone who believes in your ability to heal. With my experience and training, I offer a path forward that’s grounded in evidence-based practices and compassion. You deserve relief, and I’m here to help you find it.

I am a proud member of:

  • The National Association for Addiction Professionals
  • The Pennsylvania Association of Addiction Professionals
  • The Council on Compulsive Gambling of Pennsylvania

What to Expect from Therapy with Me

I offer therapy to clients local to our Ambler, PA office as well as throughout Pennsylvania via online counseling.

Here’s the simple path we’ll follow together:

  1. Schedule your first session – We’ll meet to understand your unique story and set personalized goals.
  2. Develop your action plan – I’ll work with you to create a strategy for tackling your challenges and moving forward.
  3. Ongoing support and adjustments – We’ll check in regularly to ensure we’re on track and adjust the plan as needed.

I understand that therapy can feel intimidating, but we’ll work at a pace that’s comfortable for you. And if you ever feel uncertain or need adjustments along the way, your feedback will always be welcomed and valued.

For those who are open to it, I also offer Christian counseling. My faith shapes how I view the world and informs my therapeutic approach. Whether or not you share my faith, I’m committed to respecting your beliefs and creating a space where you can feel comfortable, supported, and heard.

A Little About My Background

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Since 2002, I’ve worked across various behavioral health settings, including outpatient care, inpatient treatment, and crisis stabilization.

I helped establish the Drug Court program in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and have extensive experience working with military personnel and their families. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or a loved one, I use trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapies to guide you toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I also teach as an Adjunct Professor for Eastern University and Messiah University’s graduate counseling programs, where I enjoy sharing my passion for mental health and helping the next generation of counselors.

Therapeutic Approaches I Use

I blend several effective therapeutic techniques tailored to your unique needs, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helping you identify and shift negative thought patterns that keep you stuck.
  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) – Working with you to challenge unhelpful beliefs and develop a more positive, realistic mindset.

What Success Looks Like

Imagine waking up tomorrow feeling a little lighter. Picture yourself with more energy, more clarity, and the ability to take on challenges with confidence. That’s the transformation we can work toward together. With therapy, you’ll gain the tools to break free from cycles of depression and addiction and build a healthier, more hopeful future.

The Cost of Inaction

Without help, depression and addiction can continue to take a toll on your life, relationships, and overall well-being. You don’t have to let it control you any longer. The longer you wait, the harder it may feel to make a change—but it’s never too late to start.
