What Counseling with Nate Looks Like

Nate follows a clear structure that helps clients feel more settled and confident about what to expect in therapy.

Sessions 1 to 3
Clients share their story, identify what feels heavy, and clarify their goals. Nate helps them understand the direction therapy will take and what progress can look like.

Sessions 4 to 7
Nate works with clients to understand the patterns that keep them stuck. Together they begin practicing new skills, increasing awareness, and building emotional insight.

Sessions 8 to 11
Clients often begin noticing changes at this stage. Nate reinforces what is working, helps troubleshoot challenges, and continues building momentum.

Sessions 12 and beyond
Nate adjusts session frequency based on progress and helps clients strengthen and integrate the changes they have made into daily life.

This structured approach gives clients a sense of stability and direction while they grow.

    How Nate Supports Clients Using Evidence-Based Therapy

    Nate uses approaches that help clients understand the emotional and behavioral patterns that keep them stuck so they can respond more effectively. His work is grounded in:

    His goal is to help clients develop emotional clarity, strengthen coping skills, and build healthier patterns that lead to long-term stability.

    Nate’s Clinical Experience and Training

    Nate is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with more than twenty years of experience serving individuals and families across a wide range of behavioral health settings. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

    Since 2002, Nate has worked in outpatient care, inpatient treatment, and crisis stabilization. He played a key role in establishing the Drug Court program in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where he worked closely with adults navigating addiction, legal consequences, and the challenges of rebuilding their lives under significant pressure. He also has extensive experience supporting military personnel and their families, giving him a deep understanding of the stress, trauma exposure, and unique demands many service members face.

    Nate uses trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapies to help clients gain clarity, develop healthier patterns, and make meaningful long-term changes. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Adjunct Professor for the graduate counseling programs at Eastern University and Messiah University. Teaching allows him to share his passion for mental health and invest in the next generation of counselors.

    As the Director of Operations at Lime Tree Counseling, Nate also helps ensure every client receives responsive, high-quality care with a simple and supportive start.

    Nate lives in the area with his wife, Katie, and their three children. He enjoys spending time outside, reading, and being with family and friends. Nate is also one of Joey’s favorite people in the office. Joey often relaxes at his feet during meetings and happily keeps him company throughout the day.
